Snow Angel Base Layer Clothing

Me, in my PJs. Or at least the awesome Snow Angel base layer clothing which I’ve been depending on to keep me warm as we’ve traveled through in the Andes in Peru and Ecuador.

Gals, it’s time to junk your standard grey or black thermal undies and treat yourself to some of these super-soft, super-comfortable and good-enough-to-wear-on-top leggings and tops.

Snow Angel contacted me before I left Seattle to find out about donating a prize for Passports with Purpose and after a few rushed emails, a box of Snow Angels gear arrived on my doorstep. Since I was in the middle of reducing my wardrobe to bare essentials, I grabbed just one pair of Cybersilk leggings and a Doeskin top, chuckling because they were hot pink – for me, who never wears pink. I’ve been glad every time I’ve pulled these out of my backpack. The photo above was taken at 5am on day two of our Inca Trail hike. It was raining and cold but I had slept soundly, snug as a bug in my Snow Angel gear and sleeping bag.

The Doeskin top I’m wearing is a micro-fleece which is light yet warm. I’ve been using it as both a top for day-time wear and at night. The Cybersilk v-waist leggings are possibly the most comfortable pair of leggings I’ve ever worn. They’re so light you’d think that they won’t keep you warm, but having used them as PJs, on cold buses and as an extra layer in the evenings on treks, I can tell you that you’ll be surprised at how cozy they are.

Snow Angel will be supporting Passports with Purpose this year. You’ll be able to read about the gear and the prize on dangerjillrobinson.com, so look out for that and maybe you’ll be able to get yourself a set of Snow Angel gear.

About wandermom

". . .life is short and the world is wide" - Simon Raven I'm not sure I've ever consciously planned a trip based on this sentiment, but it definitely influences my subconscious! I've been traveling as frequently and widely as possible since I finished school. And I love it. I love the research, the planning, the fervent packing and the curiosity of exploring somewhere I've never been before. My husband & I are both Irish - as in born-in-Ireland. But we live in Seattle. We have two boys: wild, boisterous, regular boys. So, since becoming a Mom, I've been a WanderMom. Given our slightly-unusual family situation, routine "visits-to-Grandma" are international trips requiring passports, 10hr-flights and (oh joy!) airport transfers. I have rants, raves and opinions about how, where & why to travel with kids (start them as young as you can, I say!). I hope to learn even more by researching topics which other wandermoms may be interested in reading about on this blog. Passports, pacifiers, diapers and gameboys at the ready - off we go! When I pulled up this post, my first thought was “Hey isn’t this the lady that’s not into fashion?!” Teehee, those are the best looking (warm) pj’s I’ve seem on quite some time. I’ll have to remember them the next time I decide to visit Prague in December.

    Cheers!
